Service 9/20/2014

Thanks to the help of El Rescate, in 2001, my parents and I were able to obtain political asylum in this country. Over the years I have had direct contact with the non-profit organization and have become interested in the humanitarian and social work it offers immigrants from various parts of the world, including those in southern California. In 2009 I started working as a volunteer of El Rescate in some of their activities; such as fairs were I was able to give out information to people of how to legalize their immigration status and how the organization could help. I have served as an interpreter, translating from Spanish to English and vise versa, as well as filling out forms for those that do not know how or cannot read or write.
